Thiers-Issard finishes the blade and in our recent experience the blade is shave ready at this time, though some gents prefer to put a finer edge yet on their own razor. Factory edge razors are a good choice for the gentleman who is experienced with straight razors and knows how to sharpen and strop their blade. You may want us to send your choosen razor out to be professionally honed for you.
PROFESSIONALLY HONED razors are razors which have been finished by the factory and are then re-honed by razor experts here in the states. These razors are absolutely shave-ready straight from the box. This is the better choice for the straight razor novice.
