During our extensive testing and evaluation, Shave Quality has consistently proved equal to or better than that provided by professionally honed and stropped straight razors! While the Feather Razor is used in the same manner and using the same techniques as a traditional straight razor, the consistently finer edge of the Feather Razor improves the shave quality by eliminating the tendency to add pressure to the blade while shaving which invariably results in razor burn or irritation. Quality is not only evident in the shave - The construction of the remarkable Feather Razor is in a class by itself! The specially designed "Pleana" model is cast in Solid Brass and plated in Satin Finished Chromium. Its uniquely designed razor body will guide the razor for you, maintaining the optimum blade angle to achieve a close and smooth shave. The razor body can be easily and completely disassembled for thorough cleaning. The handle pivot is assembled using a removable screw assembly which also easily permits adjusting pivot tension. The razor design incorporates a "Monkey Tail" style tang to better accomodate multiple fingers and both file jimps and replaceable non-slip shank inserts to assure a secure grip for wet hands. Comes with three different color (smoke, blue, and beige) shank inserts for you to use to customize the razor to your taste. The razor handle is made of a special polymer that has exceptional heat and chemical resistant properties which allow complete razor immersion in boiling water, sanitizing solutions, or even autoclaving.
The "Pleana" uses a special blade which works in unison with the razor body to provide an easy, close, and comfortable shave every time. The Pleana is not as heavy a razor as the "Artist Club" Feather Models, and may be best suited for detail shaves around moustache and goatee. Blades listed separately.
