The most striking aspect of this Limited Production Razor is its handle - Hand Made from Genuine Mammoth Ivory only recently unearthed in the far northern reaches of the Siberian Steppes and estimated at between 20,000 and 30,000 years old. Each razor's handle is unique and individually beautiful due to the one-of-a-kind graining that reveals itself during the shaping and polishing of each individual handle scale. Due to the uniqueness of the natural Ivory used, each razor is individual and the graining of the ivory varies from one razor to another. It is important to mention here that the Ivory used for these handles comes from deep inside the mammoth tusks. It is not the rough weathered "bark" found on the outside of the tusk that is more commonly available and is far less beautiful and valuable.

The Ivory is bonded to a strong Natural Ebony substrate to prevent warpage, impart additional tensile strength and prevent the cracking that is so typical of most genuine ivory razor handles. Additionally, the handle scales are secured with Three Pins, the center pin is concealed between the ebony and ivory so as not to detract from the ivory's natural graining, the two end pins are the heavy-duty flush-mounted polished nickel-silver pins that are reserved for use on only the highest quality razors. This meticulous construction and attention to detail assures a razor that will last for several generations.

The razor's blade is every bit as special as the handle - Made especially for this very unique razor. The blade is an Extra Hollow Ground 5/8 "Singing" Round Point forged from the Finest Swedish Carbon Steel and carefully hand ground by DOVO's most senior and experienced craftsman. This razor will readily take the keenest edge possible and provide the closest and smoothest shave you've ever had. Each blade is Gold Plated for the full length of the spine, shank and tang and bears the DOVO, Solingen Hallmark on the shank and a Majestic laser-etched Mammoth on the blade's face.
