"Revisor Solingen" and "C. Friedrich Schmidt" black-etched on one side of the 5/8 factory-edge blade, the reverse is blank. Blade DOES NOT fall center to its scales but slightly off to one side with the blade edge making contact about halfway down its length; razor is priced accordingly. Scales appear to be black resin with metal "Solingen" decal. Decal has puckered up slightly at the "G". White resin scale wedge. Despite its minor flaws, this razor does feature unique tang inlay work. The inlay material is an off-white with some orangish discoloration and its patina is a bit different than the razor's scales, which suggests a different material than resin altogether. The metal tang of the razor is sandwiched between two of these white inlays and held there by two small pins in addition to the pivot pin. What appears to be a tiny black wedge inlay finishes off the tail of the tang.
Razor comes with a new American Mountain black deerskin leather sheath.
All vintage blades, including this one, are sold AS IS and as such are not subject to return. Photos are of the actual razor and are recent and therefore accurate of the state in which your razor will arrive. Any serious defects (examples: excessive rust, edge-scale contact, cracked scale, blade nicks) will be mentioned in the razor's description and will be reflected in the price. Classic Shaving is proud to offer these unique collector's pieces to straight razor enthusiasts and we hope you are as excited about them as we are!
