The Stand

Dovo’s new Z-stand for your straight razor and brush.  Made from heavyweight stainless steel with a classic satin finish, this new stand is practical and combines form with function in an elegant, simple design.

The Brush

R.A. Rooney of England makes some of the finest shaving brushes in the world, and this little beauty lives up to their standards.  It's their Style "2" Small brush in black with a Pure Badger Hair filling.  A hungry little soap monster that proves great lather can come in little packages.  

The Straight Razor

This affordable straight razor is perfect for the beginner. The handle is crafted from sturdy clean black resin. Well balanced to the blade, the handle offers exceptional hand control and a comfortable shave. 

The blade begins as a forged high-carbon steel blank that is then tempered for hardness. Next a master craftsman shapes and grinds it into a 5/8 inch wide, half-hollow ground blade. In the finishing process, file jimps are added to the upper and lower sides of the shank. Shank is then brand-stamped "Solingen Best Quality" on the blade and "Solingen Germany - Col. Ichabod Conk" on the front of the tang, "Solingen - Made in Germany" on the back.  Finally, the razor is sharpened and and polished by Dovo's factory tradespeople.  Although Dovo claims the razor is shave-ready, we have found you could benefit by getting the razor professionally sharpened by our own sharpeners before its first use, especially if you're a beginner. It's always a great idea to start with the perfect edge, then learn to maintain it with regular stropping.
