love it!!

i bought it as a gift, not knowing what to expect as a new barber myself. as soon as i opened the packaging it was beautiful, lightweight, and the engraving was perfect. i love the shave set add on, and they loved the gift. i am a little sad it didn’t come with a hone but it did come with a strop which is great!

Great value for great starter

Very pleased with this. Recently got a straight razor “starter kit” as a gift but it didn’t come sharpened. After a little research, for almost the same price as getting mine honed, I bought this razor, professionally honed, and received it faster than getting my original one honed. Awesome job.

I already had a Grim Dollar when I made this recent order. Was so pleased with the first one that I bought again so that I could build a bigger rotation and extend the amount of time between honing my line up. Definitely did NOT expect to get 50 4-pass shaves from a $30 straight razor before it started tugging. It doesn't handle as well as my Dovo and I don't expect the Grim Dollar to be able to compete with it shave after shave, hone after hone, year after year, they are in different classes. However, the value of this straight is incredible and I would recommend it to anyone, new or experienced. For the new shavers, it's a much easier pill to swallow than spending a couple hundred on a high end blade when they don't know if they'll like straight shaving or are worried about wrecking an expensive blade learning to strop, and for the experienced guys it is a good backup for when your main blade needs honing or you want to do a rotation without the cost involved of a multi-razor set.

Great Shave so far.

The razor is easy to handle, very sharp, and thus far has given me no issues. The only issue is my inexperience with a straight. I paid for the honing service since I don't have any stones. It came shave ready out of the box. Glad this was an option for a curious person. I don't think I would have ever spent $250+ on a straight just to try it. I would probably get a 5/8 straight point for my next razor, but this is a great starting point.

Wonderful razor for the price

So far this razor has been read. Great quality for the price only downside is the scale is plastic. Easy to sharpen and hone yourself. Good place to start. Sad that the Blades Grim logo rubbed right off the blade when cleaned it with rubbing alcohol when I first received it.
