Parker 99R Butterfly Safety Razor

Overall I like the heft and length of this razor. The handle is longer than the first safety razor I bought and, as a result, is easier for me to hold and use. You definitely don't have to apply much pressure to get a good quality shave - provided, of course, that you have a good quality blade inserted. The only problem I've had with it was that one of the hinge clasps to the butterfly enclosure snapped and broke off when I accidentally dropped it in the sink while shaving. It was only my 6th shave with it, so imagine how upset I was that my clumsiness caused that kind of damage. The butterfly still closes reasonably well and the blade is still kept level and even, but I have to push on the seam once in a while to realign it properly.

I have purchased other items here at Classic shaving in years past and was happy, I did not purchase this particular razor 99r here. This razor is very frustrating. The butterfly mechanism unscrews in an odd way and once it comes apart, it is very difficult and frustrating to put back together to work properly. I tried to get information from the Parker website and was blown away by the fact that a consumer is not able to get any information from them nor can you make an inquiry directly. Their website states that you should contact the retailer etc directly and they will be happy to help you. Are you kidding me? I have never heard of such a thing. Parker is a company that does not stand by their products at all and everyone should avoid Parkers. The website does not provide ANY means at all (address, phone, email) to contact them. What a joke. I purchased the parker 99 r about a month ago and have shaved several times with it. I am impressed with the feel, craftsmanship and weight in this razor at an affordable price. This is a product that is well constructed. I was so impressed I ordered another Parker safety razor. Classic Shaving delivered on this product!
