American Made 3" Mountain Strop w/ Handles, English Bridle Leather and Cotton Weave

Handmade in California
This handmade strop is custom crafted by a legend in mile-high Idyllwild, California. The locals call him Mountain Mike. He designed the strop for use by both novice and veteran straight razor shavers.
The extra wide 3" surface allows stropping without the traditional X pattern, reducing the risk of potential stropping errors. Stropping area measures 3" x 17" and is actually two separate strops joined together at the top with a nickel plated swivel clasp and heavy duty Handles at the ends. One is made of premium English bridle leather to ensure the best stropping possible and the second of 100% cotton weave. Bridle leather aficionados will tell you these strops offer a smoother, lighter draw compared to latigo or horsehide leather due to the fats, oils and waxes imbued in the leather during its tanning process. These oils and waxes migrate normally to the surface of the leather over time, giving the leather a white “bloom” (If you’ve ever opened a chocolate bar that was sitting around for a while and found a white coating on it, it’s the same idea) and it's actually a sign of high quality bridle leather. A little strop conditioner will restore your strop to its original color. Of course, strop draw is a personal preference, but if you’ve never felt the glide of a straight razor’s edge on some premium bridle leather, you just might owe it to yourself to mix one of these strops into your rotation. All Mountain Strops are assembled with nickel-plated screws that allow for easy replacement of worn leather or backing. This durable, American-made strop will season with age and keep your straight razor "Shaving Sharp" for the life of the razor. Available in chestnut or black.
