This handsome straight razor is perfect for beginner and seasoned wet-shaver alike. The scales are crafted from classic ebony and are well balanced to the blade, offering exceptional hand control and a comfortable shave. The blade begins as a forged high-carbon steel blank that is then tempered for hardness. Next a master craftsman shapes and grinds it into a 6/8 inch wide, full-hollow ground blade. In the finishing process, file jimps are added to the lower side of the shank. Shank is then brand-stamped with the Bismarck logo on the blade and "Solingen Germany" on the tang. Finally, the razor is sharpened and and polished by Dovo's factory tradespeople. The many generations of experience that went into the making of this razor are evident when you first hold it in your hand. It will provide the finest shave possible for many generations to come.

A modern classic with vintage lineage

A straight razor like this Bismarck from Dovo is a legend for a century now in the art and the craftsmanship. The razor is stunning to look at in the hand and a joy to shave with. Absolutely top notch.

      Excellent experience

Extremely happy with Classic Shaving! I sent a straight razor that I dropped (the tip bent) on the floor to them to see if there was any way to repair it and for sharpening. They were able to repair and sharpen the razor and did not charge me for the repair. I also purchased a new razor from them that was promptly shipped out.

      Great Razor and Service!

Being brand new to straight razor shaving, looking for a first razor was intimidating. After hours on the internet, I settled with the Dovo INOX 5/8. Unfortunately, at the time, they didn't have any in stock so I was offered a free upgrade to the Dovo Bismark 6/8. I just finished with my first shave with a straight razor and I am beyond satisfied with the results. This razor is easy to handle and cut exceptionally well. Even after a most likely mediocre stropping the razor was still plenty sharp, coming from these guys. However, to keep this review honest, I was a little disappointed to see that a few portions of the gold inlay on the spine, toe, and shank had already been rubbed off. Probably during the sharpening process. Absolutely nothing wrong with that though. Since this is my first razor it was probably going to look like that in month or two anyways. But, my hat's off to the Classic Shaving team for delivering a great product and service, especially during this pandemic. You guys have got another loyal customer!

      My first straight razor

I just started using it. I think it will take some practice.

      "Bismark" Dovo 6/8 Straight Razor

I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a revew. First, I had the straight razor honed by classic shaving and to let anyone new know, it's very sharp. Second, I had to get used to the 6/8 as I've been using a 5/8, the adjustment cased a few nicks but it comes with the territory. Lastly I can say, after stopping a few times and becoming familiar with the weight and angles of this razor it shaves well. No razor burn and it is forgiving yet will let you know if you're not doing something right. I would consider another "Bismark" for my collection in the near future.
