The Blade: With its smooth, satin finish, this 5/8" blade has a quarter hollow grind, a round point and jimps on the underside of the tang.

Choose your Custom Scale: Whether you choose the refined sophistication of a quality resin scale or the Old World allure of a premium hardwood scale, the choice is all yours. Replacement scales are also sold separately and can easily be swapped out.

Each Hart razor comes with its own storage box, a hex wrench, and an instructional manual. For everyday use, apply Classic Brand razor oil; for long term storage we recommend Sentry Solutions Tuf-Glide w/Precision Applicator.

What is different about Hart Steel razors? In the spirit of American cottage industry our razors are created by Artisan Technicians (AT). One AT from start to finish has hand-ground, marked, sharpened and assembled each razor. You'll find the AT's personalized mark proudly stamped on each razor to indicate his craftsmanship and the maker’s assurance of quality.

Our steel is tested at a Rockwell hardness of 62 – 63, giving your razor the sharpest and most long-lasting edge possible. The one-piece scales have a simple elegance and are extremely durable while providing an excellent balance to the razor's edge. The scales are attached by a hex screw so the user can easily tighten or loosen to his preference as well as re-scale the razor. The addition of hand carved file jimps on the inside edge of the blade's tang provide extra grip and control while shaving.

The Hart Steel blades are made from 0-1 tool steel, never old forgings or “mystery metal”. The blades are surface-ground before and after heat-treating in a molten salt bath. The salt protects the blades from decarbonization and oxidation. The blades are then frozen in liquid nitrogen, which assures dimensional stability. Each blade is triple-tempered for a final hardness of 62 – 63 HRC. If you would like us to professionally hone and sharpen your new razor, please select the option above.

      Hart 5/8 quarter ground razor.

Ordered it already honed and out of the box it was the best shave I’ve ever had with a straight razor. These folks know their stuff and offer a quality product.

      Newbie to straight razors

Great. Nicked myself a bit the first time I used it, but not badly, after I took a shower they were gone. It was easier to get a hang of it than I thought it would be. I watched a couple videos before I decided to buy a straight razor, and that helped a lot. It was easier than I expected to hold the blade at the correct angle for more areas. One of the videos recommended starting with the easy spots (cheeks) and moving on to the harder ones, which is what I’ve been doing. Yesterday I shaved everywhere except under my chin with the Hart, had maybe one nick, if that. I had been thinking about trying a straight razor for a long time, only regret is that I didn’t buy one sooner. Nice, close shave and there’s something very satisfying about shaving with a straight razor. This Hart razor appears well made and is easy to handle. It is the only straight razor I’ve tried, but I’m thoroughly happy with it.

      What a smooth shave!

This razor was a pleasure to shave with. You folks did a great job honing it for me and I couldn't be more pleased with the way the razor performed.

      Hart 5/8 square point

I used to be a Dovo guy until I tried this razor. Also, this is the first razor that I have ever bought new that came in what I consider "shave ready " condition. Usually they need to be stropped at minimum before I'm satisfied with the shave. Next time I'm in the market for a new one it will definitely be a Hart. Oh and the best part.... made in the USA!!! ps, I still use the Dovos. Just not nearly as often
