Occam's Razor Handling And Shaving Tips

Occam's Razor - Simplify Your Shaving - (as seen & funded on kickstarter)

Let Occam's Razor simplify and improve the way you shave. A beautiful design with unmatched functionality.

Occam's Razor was designed to simplify your life and your shaving. We have taken the finest blades that barbers and beauticians use and brought them home to you. Now you can enjoy a barber or salon quality shave at home. Storage boxes may vary.

More blades is not the answer to a better, closer shave. Anyone who has had a shave by a professional barber knows this. There is a reason the professionals only use one blade.

Occam's Razor features:

  • Easy blade loading and extraction without exposure to blade cutting edge.
  • Use your fingers or a tool to easily insert or remove blade.
  • Made from 316 Stainless Steel for lifelong use.
  • Adjustable blades for skin types and facial hair types.
  • Easy cleaning and anti-clog design.
  • No more skin irritation, razor burn or razor bumps.
  • Stainless Steel Lifetime Construction.
  • Lifetime Warranty.

*Please note that depending upon what blades you use with the Occam's Razor non Stainless Steel blades will rust if stored in the shower or in wet environment or state. This can lead to stains on the finish of the handle or head.  Please dry after use to prevent this.

  • Multi-Blade cartridge razors create ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
  • High Costs for replacement cartridges.
  • Lowest quality of shave with some of the highest pricing per blade.
  • Low integrity gimmicks like vibrating heads and useless ball "technology".
  • Expensive upfront and expensive to maintain heads properly.
  • Loads of irritation (requiring a month or more for you skin to get "accustomed" to the abuse).
  • Typically a dry or near dry shave.
  • Hair is cut unevenly creating ingrown hairs and razor bumps.
  • Limited options and adjustments.
  • Same issues as the Cartridge Razors above just typically harder to return, cancel or get what you want.
  • Intimidating un-packaging of razor and no protective dispensing system. Exposure to 2 blade edges when changing blade.
  • Easily clogs, hard to wash out and harder to keep clean without serious maintenance. Lot's of moving parts to gum-up or fail.
  • Have to twist to open and close or un-assemble razor to change blade.
  • Have to purchase another container to store sharp used blades.

Two billion disposable razor blades per year are used and thrown away… Additionally, shaving gel creates several other problems. Their metal cans are often refused by recycling plants as they are under pressure. These cans also may contain polluting chemicals and gasses such as aerosol, propane, butane, isobutane and many others.

It is our goal to change the way you shave. You and your household can make a difference in landfill shaving waste, save money, get a better shave and make a real difference. How you ask? What is the answer?

Nice razor for my wife

My wife loves this razor and uses it each time she shaves her legs. She like this razor better than other razors. So worth the purchase for her and then I have to change the blade for her whenever it's time for new blade.

Great AC safety razor

This is my first AC style safety razor, and wow does it perform. Loaded up easily with a Schick Proline blade and ran it on the 2 dot plate. Did a full 3 pass face shave and a 2 pass head shave. No nicks, cuts, weepers or even irritation. I have a few landmarks on my head that make shaving it difficult for some razors, no such problems with the Occam's. Damn near BBS on the face and DFS on the head. Ease of maneuving around my face was surprising given the wider head (compared to a DE razor). Finding the cutting angle was effortless. Handle feels good to me. No issues with the razor clogging with lather and stubble either. TL;DR: Fantastic razor, might be a top 10 for me. Don't hesitate to try it, I'd have no problem recommending the Occam's to anyone.

Nice razor

A lovely razor, it allows a comfortable and quite nice shaving experience. It was my first Single Edge razor and I am very happy about it. I am using KAI Captain Mild blades and I think they are great, but at the beginning one may feel a little chattering of the blade: but all in all it does not effects the quality of shaving at all. It's only a slight difference with a DE razor (a bit more sonorous, I dare say), but the overall shaving experience is excellent. Lovely, deep and smooth BBS without any effort nor irritation. Nice price too: I was surprised that all the three heads were sent with no difference of price. Highly recommended!!

Gold Occam's razor- uses Feather Artist Club blades- A++

The razor, like the others in this style I've bought performs surprisingly well. I'm nearing 70 and have some age-related issues with my hands, so over the years honing straights has become more of a chore, which led me to replaceable blade straights. The design of Occam's razor with its floating blade allows for an easy, stress-free, but very close shave. The shave is close to what I get with the Feather DX straight, just a smidge less close, but certainly still great. I've tried about six different makers safety razors that use Feather Artist Club (AC) blades and the Occam's and the Blackland Vector have consistently given me the best shaves. In terms of value, I do not think at current prices you can get a better deal than an Occam's AC razor. In fact, this purchase went into the cabinet as a spare to have in the unlikely case one of my handles or heads might fail. At < $50 for an all stainless steel, made in the USA razor, that can deliver such excellent shaves I consider it an astounding bargain. The low price signaled to me that it may be being discontinued, so I bought this spare. I have both this original version and the OREN version and do not find much difference in the shave quality. The OREN version with the shorter guard is a tad more maneuverable, which might help in the mustache area, but otherwise for me they perform the same. I didn't find the milled out handle on the OREN version any better, as I've had no slippage with the original handle. I've also tried the three-dot head, and the razor became slightly more aggressive, but the two-dot head is my daily driver. I saw no need for me to use the one-dot head. I realize that I'm one of the few using this system so regularly, but I truly enjoy the stress-free, close shaves I've been getting. For some, the razor may take too much of the challenge out of wet shaving; for me, the ease of use has allowed me to concentrate more on my soap, brush, and post-shave products. Enjoy your shaves!

  • Do you prefer a Safety Razor or Straight Razor? I've used AC straight razors and AC safety razors the majority f the time, switching off to other SE, DE systems when the mood strikes
  • Do you prefer a Shave Soap or Cream? I prefer a soap, for many, many years now, and have maybe 15 soaps to each cream
  • Have You Ever Tried a Pre-Shave Oil or Lotion? Yes, I've tried many but those products didn't really improve my shaves over using the lather from a high-quality soap
  • How long have you been Wet Shaving? 40 years; Feather Artist Club (AC) razors ~12 years
