I bought this to get started with straight razors without having to pay $200+ for the first experience.
I'm fine with the blade, as I have nothing else to compare it too - it's definitely sharp, and I can strop it back to sharp pretty easily after a use or two. I've used it maybe 5 times now, getting used to how much pressure and what angle I need to keep it at - it definitely gives a close shave when you get them both right.
I'm not a fan of the scales - they seem plastic and cheap, not even solid as they are hollowed-out inside. Again, I have nothing to go off of since it's the only one I've ever owned, maybe they are all that way? (I highly doubt it) The scales don't seem to effect the razors main function though.
I'll give it 5 stars for now and come back in a bit with an update as to how long it lasts, how often I have to sharpen it, if I'm seeing any defects etc.
