INSTRUCTIONS:

Due to safety concerns, your razor MUST be cleaned before sending it to our professionals for sharpening/restoration.  If we receive the razor and there is: Soap, Hair, Blood etc. on the razor.  Your order will be refunded, and the razor sent back.  In case of refund due to a dirty blade, the customer is liable for the return shipping.

Order each razor sharpening from this listing by clicking on the "Add To Cart" button above.

Please describe your razor(s) in the memo box above.

The shipping you select and pay for at checkout will be the choice of return shipping that we use to return your razor(s) to you once we have finished sharpening.

When packing your razor, please do not wrap anything around the blade! The safest method is to wrap the whole razor in bubble wrap and place in a small padded envelope or small flat rate box.

**** Please Read Carefully: We have encountered a few razor companies that do not tend to hold an edge. These razors tend to be a somewhat softer steel (Not properly hardened compared to properly heat treated razors, with a Rockwell hardness of 57 or greater.) Softer steel keeps the edge from forming a cutting bevel, as the shaving edge will deteriorate. Some of these brands can also have a geometry that is a bit thick for a straight razor shaving edge. If you would like to send in a razor that is on the following list, the razor will go to the honing service for inspection to either be honed, with every effort to reach shaving quality or returned for a refund.

**** Please note: if you send us one of the razors on the list below, we will not refund the shipping cost to ship the razor back to you.

So so good

If you need your razor sharpened look no further. My blade came back mirror sharp. I'm very impressed by the quality of the sharpening and the care in shipping.

Classic shaving, straight edge sharpening service and repair.

I sent in six straight edge razors, four vintage and two new for lite repair and sharpening service. I was nervous that they would come back subpar or not at all. When they arrived I was not only relieved to have them back, but amazed at the quality of the razors edge. All blades polished to a shine, new handles on one (no additional cost to me!) And an edge! Some of the razors I sent in were badly chipped, uneven and rusted with pitting in the metal. All rust removed, steel polished to a shine, pitting removed as best as possible, and an EDGE!! I am excited to shave again. This was absolutley worth the cost and time (about a week and half for 6 razors door to door.)

Well re-scaled and re-honed

It's been great using my newly re-scaled and re-honed razor. I had been living abroad when the original (plastic) scales broke. Not having or wanting to buy the equipment to fix the scales myself (and not finding anyone else who could repair them) I stuck the blade in a drawer until I got back to the United States, when I sent the blade off to Classic Shaving. They returned it about a week later, with the new carbon-fiber scales I'd requested (more durable than plastic), and a freshly-honed edge. The team at Classic Shaving even included a plastic case for the razor, which has since made it easier to store the in my humid bathroom. Overall, I'm thoroughly satisfied with my purchase. One thing confuses me, though: the shape of the scales didn't quite match that advertised on the Classic Shaving website. I assume that this is because the scales advertised are meant for a longer blade than the one I sent in. All the same, this is a minor issue, and both scales and blade function marvelously. Finally, the blade is nice and secure in the scales--neither too tight nor too loose around the pin. I'm thrilled with my purchase and would definitely use their service again.

  • How long have you been Wet Shaving? Since 2011.
  • Do you prefer a Safety Razor or Straight Razor? I prefer a straight razor, but use the safety when pressed for time.
  • Do you prefer a Shave Soap or Cream? Soap. My go-to's Prorasso, sandalwood-scented.
  • Have You Ever Tried a Pre-Shave Oil or Lotion? Yes. It added a step but didn't otherwise improve my shave.
